After gaining experience at sea, there are many opportunities for shore-based career advancement for former mariners.

It’s common for captains, officers and crew to seek shore-based jobs once they have started a family or decided to put down permanent roots. These may be within a shipping company or in one of many other marine related activities where skills gained as a seafarer are in great demand.
