Updated Designated Person Ashore Course

Southampton, UK – 20 April 2022 – Azimuth Nautical Solutions Ltd. is pleased to announce the launch today of its updated Designated Person Ashore course. This highly interactive three-day DPA course is designed for current DPAs and those who may deputise for the DPA.  Meeting the requirements of IMO’s MSC.MEPC7/Circ.6, this course is also relevant for those who need to fully understand the role and responsibilities of the DPA in the management of safety and organisational compliance with the ISM Code.

This course can either be delivered at company premises or an agreed alternative location. Upon successful course completion, the delegate will receive a Nautical Institute approved training certificate.

Course Objectives

Course delegates will develop greater understanding of the ISM Code with regard to the responsibilities held by a DPA, including:

  • Raising delegate awareness of current themes in safety and environmental compliance
  • Facilitating the sharing of current industry best practice
  • Allowing delegates to demonstrate continuing professional development (CPD)
  • Enabling delegates to meet the requirements of IMO MSC-MEPC7_Circ6 ‘Guidance on the Qualifications, training and experience necessary for undertaking the role of the Designated Person under the provision of the ISM Code’
