This 4½-day Training in Advanced Oil Tanker Cargo Operations course provides specialist training in subjects appropriate to the duties of senior officers and any person with immediate responsibility for loading, discharging, care in transit or handling of bulk oil cargoes.
The course is also for tanker terminal and ship management personnel, who will build on previous experience and gain a detailed appreciation of the safety aspects involved in the handling and carriage of oil cargoes.

Please note that anyone not meeting the pre-requisites will be issued with a letter of attendance rather than an STCW certificate.
The course takes full account of Chapter V Regulation V/1-1, Chapter V Section A-V/1-1.2 and Table A-V/1-1-2 of the 2010 STCW Code and complies with the Merchant Navy Training Board (MNTB) requirements as satisfying part of the prerequisites for issue of a tanker endorsement by the UK Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA).
In order to comply with the STCW A-V requirements, and to be able to apply for the Dangerous Cargo Endorsement without delay, you must be in possession of a Training in Tanker Fire Fighting certificate to attend basic and advanced tanker cargo operations courses.
If you have not yet completed the tanker fire fighting element (which is a five-hour standalone course), this training can be offered in combination with Proficiency in Advanced Fire Fighting.
A Training in Tanker Fire Fighting certificate will be issued upon completion.
