To gain MCA certification as OOW (Yachts) less than 3,000GT candidates must successfully complete the following certification course modules and STCW professional short courses, as well as undertaking an MCA Oral examination:
Officer of the Watch (Yachts) – General Ship Knowledge
Officer of the Watch (Yachts) – Navigation and Radar
Officer of the Watch (Yachts) – Orals Preparation
Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats (other than Fast Rescue Boats)
GMDSS General Operators Certificate
Human Element, Leadership and Management (Operational Level)
Electronic Chart Display and Information Systems (ECDIS)
